THE 11TH HOUR

Now it is all over ...it was a quiet, family Christmas. We opened our gifts this morning, the girls played FULL THROTTLE all day and then we talked to everyone back home on the phone. In all of the gifts, Emma seems particularly taken with her "American cheerleader outfit" and the pretend cash register with fake Euro money. Mikie is all about her "pink things" and the diary with a LOCK on it. What, exactly, a 6 year old has to say that is that top secret is a mystery.

After dinner we spent a few hours with several Romanian couples we know at the home of the Damacus family ...they have a website too (doesn't everybody these days), check out www.damacus.ro if you want. We just walked in (it's 11:00) and the girls are headed to bed and I am right behind them. Next week is a kind of vacation week ....schools are closed and a lot of things shut down, but everyone keeps promising to take me to a thermal pool this week ...we'll see if I get there.
