MEETING THEIR MAKER

A little perspective here.... this picture floats around in a lot of places. It is Elena and Nicolae Ceausescu (former Romanian dictator) on the day their lives would end, December 25, 1989. While most of us were throwing another log on the ol' yule fire and getting all snuggled in our bed with visions of sugarplums, they were facing a "trial" that swiftly ended with a firing squad. The day changed the course of Romania's future as much as the day he came into power. Look at the picture closely, especially at her, and see the haughty nature they displayed.

Every Christmas night, a national TV channel re-plays the entire scene and I've watched it before. It was a classic example of something Kay Arthur says, "Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you there longer than you want to stay and cost you more than you want to pay." Posted by Picasa
