I'm sitting on the couch with Mikie ....been out all afternoon on this COLD Sunday. I went to a few of the "hipermarkets" to see if I could find a few sweaters on sale. "End of season" sales and clearances are a very new concept here, startng only 2 years ago. Until then, they just boxed it up for next year! All of our big stores have malls attached, so I did a lot of hunting. I finally found 2 I liked and could afford, one from Kenvelo, http://www.kenvelo.com (sort of a European Gap) and one from House of Art ( a Romanian store that is slowly moving upward). Even at 70% off, you pay a lot more than the States.... the final sale price here is about what the regular price is there. Oh to have an Old Navy nearby!
Yesterday, we had full one... a classmate of Mikie's spent Friday night, so there were 3 young girls in our tiny apartment! In the morning, we all went to a meeting at a local church we sometimes attend. The girl's mom was there, so we dropped her off. We met for a few hours about the church (all Romanian so some of it got lost!) and then had lunch... traditional and typical.... chicken snitzel (pounded to death and battered and pan fried) and potatoes. If you've ever been here, you know this drill. Last night we went to the Barbusca's for dinner. Tony works with me at BCA and they have 2 little boys and a baby girl. They are giving us tons of clothes for our new little girl. How cool!
So is life.....
