Piata Amzei.... a large, enclosed market selling everything imaginable.... from fruits and vegetables to detergent to underwear and pretzels. Truly, a "one-stop shop." These type markets are very common here and we often shop in one near our apartment (Piata Vitan). In smaller cities, they are usually outdoor, but the times they are a-changing so the rush is on to modernize! Piata means "market," in this case, but can also mean "outdoor plaza." Often an area will be called "piata" because there is a market and a plaza there.
