THE AMAZING RACE (A.K.A. POSTA ROMANA)

We've been chasing down some boxes that were sent to us recently... so it is our Amazing Race. One of the adjustments to life here is the postal system. I've seen it improve, to be honest, but it is still almost archaic compared to what we're used to.
Only small letters are delivered to us in our mailbox. Everything else, from mailer envelopes to boxes, are kept at at post office. Some time or another, they'll put a note in our mailbox telling us to come and get our mail.
So far, our things go to 3 different post offices in 3 different parts of town.... go figure.
This week, our note told us to go to a certain post office, but the box wasn't there. They sent it to another one. No reason why... they just did it. Today, i was able to take the subway up into the city center to get to the next post office. I did find my box, finally! Then I get home with a note waiting to come to another post office for something else. Also, you have no idea what is waiting ... might be a huge box or it might be a greeting card they didn't want to deliver.
Funny thing, we don't even hardly notice it anymore!
