The movie, "The Midnight Man,"was filmed in my hometown of Anderson, SC back when I was a kid... it was a huge deal! I don't think the movie was ever a success on the screen, but we sure enjoyed it. This photo is of the Osteen, a very well-known theater, where it debuted in Anderson. Who could ever count the number of movies I saw in this place. I remeber it well... we threw Milk Duds from the balcony. This was WAY before stadium seating and surround-sound. Burt Lancaster just died, so this little movie is news again.
On a side note, the movie "Radio" was not filmed here, but it was based on a real person at an Anderson high school. Also, George Clooney just wrapped up his new movie, "Leatherheads," filming there. As a matter of fact, a lot of the scenes were filmed just across and down the street from this theater.
