Today, was a day when I had another one of those "why is everything here so complicated???" moments. What happened... doesn't even matter. Just know that rule #1 for life in Romania is this: All procedures, even the most simple ones, are 3 to 4 steps. Rare exceptions apply. There's always a missing document, a stamp needed, a signature, a _____________ (fill in the blank). You can see God's sense of humor!
A Romanian friend from school wants to play tennis ....those who know me well are pulling themselves off the floor from their good laugh. OK, I'll do it. Let the chips fall where they may.
Going tomorrow morning with an American friend to meet a possible new mechanic for us. These guys, when good and reliable and fair, are more precious than gold.
We spent way too long at the playground across the street tonight. But we do it all the time. Oh, to have a piece of grass to call our own.
