In general, Romania is viewed "less than optimally" by most Europeans.... it's a messy situation and, being that I love the country, a bit disturbing. The debate rages.... are Romanians wrongly persecuted or do a select few ruin it for everyone else?
Romanians and dogs, forbidden in a Spanish shop

A Spanish shop installed a "forbidden" sign for Romanians and dogs, Romanian television news Antena 3 informs. The shop is located in Alcudia, a municipality in Mallorca, the Balearic Island. The sign says: Romanians and dogs forbidden with the background representing Romania's flag. After police intervention, the panel was withdrawn from the shop's window but inside, there is another one insulting Romanians: they are called a plague in expansion, whose hands need to be cut off.
Shop owners say that they came to this attitude after their shop was robbed by Romanians several times in a row, as the owner heard the thieves speaking Romanian. Romanians in the region are very offended by the sign posted in the shop and the Romanians Association in Mallorca President Sergiu Alexandru Radu said that generally, Romanians on the island are considered hard working and trustworthy.
City's Mayor declared that this case was an isolated one and several citizens have already taken actions against the shop that posted the sign especially because the shop is near a school where Romanian children are studying. There are some 13,000 Romanian citizens in the Balearic Islands.
