We've been back in Bucharest a little over 2 weeks now and notice a few things about what is different here after our 7 month absence:
1. food prices are out the roof and we're in shock... some things have doubled and most things are easily 30% higher
2. the US dollar continues to drop and it costs us everytime
3. cranes are everywhere and construction is out of control
4. this summer is cooler than any previous one in 5 years
5. our neighbors are friendlier and a few even actually was aware were gone and welcomed us back
6. the stores continue to have more-expensive, yet very "cheap" merchandise ....we paid almost $40 for a cheap, plastic table fan that had to be wired together because it wouldn't assemble properly (I do miss that customer satisfaction concept)
