If you've ever asked us about "food in Romania," you've heard of sarmale (pronounced sar-MA-lee).... every European country has their version of the cabbage roll. This one is the RO version - divine! It is hands-down Emma's all-time favorite food on the planet and one of my tops. All of us like it and Adina and Lisa and Emma made a tremendous pot of "real Romanian sarmale." We also got a few cans of "the canned stuff" from them, but they will only be opened after every morsel of the real thing is long gone. Smoother it in "smantanta" (sour cream) and enjoy!
