THE SCREAMING BLOG

Well, this blog has been screaming at me to update ...always there, relentless. I confess, I've been a bit slack about the whole thing. A month again already??? Well, where do I start ...I know, THANKSGIVING. We had one here, too. Just the Americans I suppose. At our place, we ate frozen fish sticks (very "Mayflower" isn't it) and french fries ...actually a meal we all enjoy. Not to put it down, because we're having the REAL DEAL tomorrow night at the home of some friends. Turkey, dressing, cranberry (something we have to have shipped over if you can believe that) and pumpkin pies. It will ALL BE GOOD, as our pastor Perry says. Right now, our "concrete communist condo" is filled with the smell of a homemade apple pie cooking. Smells like home.

I was in Brasov yesterday, teaching at a workshop for local teachers there. It's exciting to be part of the work here. The doors are wide open to provide them high quality, relevant inservices. On the way there, we drove through Sinaia (reportedly named after Siani in the Bible). It is a beautiful place ...snow covered, almost like from a story book. Took a night train on Thursday and Friday nights ...you've not experienced sleep until you spend 8 hours on the CFR train. Just kidding.

Saturday night and our Christmas tree (brad de craciun) is up and lit. A little ahead of the curve, but what can we say. Christmas is only once a year anyway. OK, I promise to blog more and procrastinate less. By the way, the new mall is HUGE (250 stores) and PRICEY but a nice experience none-the-less. KFC is there and you know we did it. Tastes EXACTLY like home. The colonel would be proud.
