VILLAGE AND ALL

Spending time with Ovidiu and Adina in the village is always a good experience. You just live life very differently there. You sleep in beds that are very old and you eat traditional food that's been eaten for centuries (good food, I might add). I can't really think of an "American equivalent" to this life. Now, don't get me wrong. They have internet and cell phones and all the gadgets, but the LIFE is different. Most of the people in Susani are farmers and they've always lived off the land. Very nice. Cows, pigs, sheep, geese (oh, the geese) are everywhere. Horses and carts far out-number the cars.

I learned an interesting fact there from Ovidiu that is in stark contrast to life in his village:

"Las Vegas is the only city on earth that has more casinos than Bucharest, Romania (our new hometown)."

Encouraging news, isn't it. We've got our work cut out for us!
